Being Thankful

In the rush of day to day life, it is easy to forget about all of the GOOD that happens.  It is far easier to focus on the BAD.  I am absolutely guilty of being pessimistic.  It is my fall back, my natural inclination.

Oprah used to talk about wring in a journal about thankfulness and listing everything that you were thankful for or good things that happened that day.  I always thought that sounded nice, but I didn't see the value in it like I do now.

I crave peace, thankfulness, joy, niceness.  I need it to remember why I brought children into this world. Why God chose for me to be in charge of caring for these three souls.

The world is bleak because it is not Heaven.  I forget that.  Sometimes I don't even give it a second though, actually.

There is beauty in each day, in each moment.  I recommend taking time to review or even discover for the first time the joy that you encounter in your day.  Look back over it at night or refresh yourself first thing in the morning.  It pulls it all into perspective.

The good nights sleep that I received last night.

The virus that we have all been suffering from is on the outs.

My son picking all the flowers he passes, just to give to me. "Don't let them die Mama."

The toothy grin that the baby gives me.  His chubby baby muscles and little caveman feet.

My daughter's love of Frozen and the way she belts out the ballads for everyone's entertainment.  "You know me, I can sing anything."

My husband kissing me on the forehead when he thinks I'm sleeping.

The grandparents taking an interest in each of their grandchildren and making them feel special.  Making us feel loved and cared for.

What are you thankful for?
